Jaclyn Victor Glorious In Shanghai
Shanghai, 28 October: Winner of first season Malaysian Idol, Jaclyn Victor won the golden prize with her two famous songs "When I Fall In Love" and "Gemilang" in 8th Asian New Talent Competition which is one of the Shanghai Music Festival's activity.
8th Asian New Talent Competition 2005 held in Shanghai Dragon TV station from 25th to 30th in 6 days and participated by 22 talented singers from 14 countries.
Malaysia nominees three singer Jaclyn Victor, Farah Diana and Chan Ren Feng to this competition. 27 years old Jaclyn Victor is another Malaysian proud after Deja Moss and Siti Nurhaliza won the same competition in year 2002 and year 1999. With this award, she proofs her talent to the world once more.
When she interviewed by the reporters, she said she was very happy and surprised by her winning. Before the race, she yearn to win this competition but the day when she sang the second song "Gemilang" the sound system and the microphone effect seem not so ideal. Furthermore other contestants especially from Philipine and China are quite competitive and these give her more pressure. So, she was suprised she won the competition.This is also her first experiance in joining International competition after she throne as the first Malaysian Idol.

β When Jac reached Shanghai, she was busy with the competition rehearsal and compact shooting schedule caused she has no time to practice her songs. She said: " I usually train my voice by singing loudly, but i can't do it here seem it will affect other people in the studio. So i try to find a place and i found a small room above make-up room. There is nobody inside and i can able to sing loudly and this help me to warm up my throat!"
β About 20 Malaysia's ambassadors and their family members attend the competition and they gave fully support to our Malaysian proud by waving Jalur Gemilang - the Malaysian Flag.
β When Jaclyn knew everybody very yearn her to win that competition, indirectly gave her a lots of pressure. But she said: "Pressure is good. It help to push oneself to do better."
β During draw for the order, Jaclyn drew number 3 and she quite nervous with her "lucky" number 3. She seem not prepare yet and said: "No.13 will be better for me. It is in the middle."
β Jaclyn said after this competition, she will preparing for her second album.
